Who are We ? Saturne is a french demomakers group and we started on Amiga computers more than 15 years ago. At the beginning, just a band of friends who met around their demos passion. Most of the members lives in the same area and this makes contacts and meetings easy. Pals athmosphere, all the ingredients are melted to make a long lasting group... I’ve been told that we were not really productive despite some creations ( "Paf le Chien", "Noel Demo", "No", "Mambo", ...), wilds ("Crenios 1999", ...) a music disc, famous compilations known as "Fruity Packs". But Saturne is above all well known for the "Saturne Party", european event where the most passionates meet. After a 6 years absence due to each of us carreer and active life settlement, Saturne group never failed and comes back for Saturne party 6th issue. We take the opportunity to thank the many people who supported us and asked for the new issue. Thanks to You !!!
The Saturne Party After a long absence The Saturne Party is back again for the 6th time, real rendez-vous of every passionnated persons this event is quite expected and is aimed to promote computer arts under all their types. The Saturne Party has always been the biggest french Party within each of its issues and brought together 850 persons on its 5th issue. Very impressive giant screen, professional sound, lightings, animations contribute to make the Saturne a special party. Impressive prizes for contests, 50% of the amount of admission fees will be given back for contests. This 3 non-stop days event is the best mean to share, learn and increase your ability all together. Very famous demos have been displayed within Saturne Parties where all the best groups meet. This year, a PC TUNING contest will be set up so give your best and get mad to personalized you computer !!! The Saturne Party 6 is back don’t miss it !
Beginners First of all learn some vocabulary : A demo is a mini data processing clip mixing all together graphics, music, video and programing process. A demomaker is a person making demos. They join together in Demo-Parties to complete demos contests. Each person taking part will have to bring its own computer, screen, keyboard, mouse, extension cord, and plugging devices, as long as possible network cables …. In case of missing devices you’ll be able to rent in the hallroom ( No need to come with your fridge or icebox, you will find anything to get feeded and quenched at low prices 24h/24h Once your admission fees is paid, you can go out and in as many times you need without paying again within 3 days. You can enter a party for a lot of reasons : taking part in contests, (demos, graphics, music, video films, network games, disks throwing….), but also to meet real fans, creative people, graphists, data processing guys, musicians, old PC collectors, genus self made pals, games players mad of Unreal Tournement or puzzle bobble ! Sharing knowledges, be initiated to new multimedia technics or just for fun ! A very high performing network will allow gaming, sharing datas and demos etc. You are not bond to enter contests for coming, you’ll also be able to take advantage to sell you devices, your old games, meet friends, defy other gamers etc To resume it will be 3 completely mad days with pals.
